DONT BRAID IT. I used to do that all the time and now my hair is like, in the middle of wavy and straight, and if you just braid it 50% of the time it wont turn out well.
What seems to work for me is: After you take a shower and wash your hair, scrunch it from the bottom up with either a curling moose or just regular hair gel. Pantene makes a special one for curls but really any kind will do. I use vo5. it doesent make ringlets, just beachy waves.

yes! put your hair in a french braid while it is damp before you go to bed, when you take it out in the morning it will be wavy (be careful though, because you might end up with a little bit of frizz) or, try wraping small sections of your hair around a large curling iron (as opposed to clamping it inside, which will give you curls). good luck!

yes buy a criper at wal-mart or somewhere that will give you wavy hair and when you wash it it your hair will go back to normal
