I don't know why yours did but I know why mine did lol. I used to have brilliant straight hair and I loved it. Had chemotherapy and no-one told me it would grow back curly. It's a mess now and I hate it lol.

humidity. with this weather it is bound to go curly and sometimes its too hot to striaghten it and all. buy a leave in treatment conditioner, it works wonders. i live in tropical weather so believe me i know!

I can't understand it either. I was born with Curly Hair but I had a Brain Hemorrhage when I was 25 and had all my Hair Shaved off.It took ages to grow back and when it did it was Straight.

I am now almost 70 and my Hair has got a Wave in it that I Hate.

I always ask my Hairdresser to Razor cut it now at the back because it is very wavy there,she does a good job on it too.

Don't know your age group you are, but maybe it has something to do with Hormones.

I can think of a few possibilities:

Have you cut some length away recently? Sometimes long hair weighs itself down and when you take some length away you find curls and waves you never knew you had.

Has your hair started to go gray? When I was younger my hair was stick-straight and I always wanted it curly (it wouldn't hold a curl for anything), then when it started to turn gray, it came in kinky. File that under "be careful what you wish for."

Has your health changed significantly? Some conditions can weaken your hair, perhaps they can effect its texture, too...

1. you had long hair and got it cut, the weight of your hair would have kept it straight.

Same here! Mine has developed a kink at the back. I believe it is due to humidity and hormones. My dilemma is how to deal with it without messing around with straighteners.I see someone mentioned conditioner.Any other remedies out there for us?

Humidty, Don't know how old you are, but if you just had a baby or are pregnant, Sometimes hair grows back curly.
