How do i get my naturaly (very) straight hair to curl?

i have curled it but it never lasts very long... like all day at school! i also only have a 1/2 inch curling iron!!!

wash your hair, lightly towel dry it and then comb setting lotion through it before using salon type plastic mesh rollers or magnetic rollers to set your hair and then let it air dry or sleep in them. when hair is totally dry remove rollers and turn your head upside down and shake it before using your fingers to place your curls into the style that you desire

maybe your mum could show you how to roller set your hair properly or go down to a salon. Ask for a shampoo and set and get the stylist to show you how to roller set your hair properly

Dont use curling irons as they can cause heat damage to your hair

Of course it depends on the length of your hair but the size of the barrel you have now is good. Instead of closing it in your barrel, wrap your hair around your barrel and spray THE CRAP out of it with hairspray haha. It works and you get loose curls. Think of maybe Debra Messing or something near that. It would take a lot of time to get her hair! Or you can always leave your hair a bit damp and wrap it around curlers.or wrap it around your finger, pin it to your head with a bobby pin and dry it.

Suprisingly, when I was younger I complained that I had the straightest hair ever, and one day, I got out of the shower and decided to put gel in my hair, and my hair was scrunchy and curly and it was like an epiphany to me. I know everyones hair is different, but try the John Freida line of hair products;theres one thats Sleek Straight and the other is Curly. The curly side has like a shampoo, conditioner, and spray to enhance natural curls. Hope this helps

A perm is the best way to get curls

It sounds gross but don't wash your hair.

Day one wash your hair and apply mouse, let dry and wear it straight. Don't use any frizz stuff because it will make you hair look greasy the next day.

Day two take a shower but keep your hair in a shower cap and don't wash it. Your hair will hold the curl better and longer when the oils have built up a bit. Curl you hair as usual and mist with aerosol flexible hair spray.

A one-inch flat iron makes beautiful curls (yes, a flat iron). Here's how: Clamp the iron on a small section (about an inch) of hair close to your scalp; turn the iron one-half to one full turn away from your scalp; run the flat iron through your hair with the hair at a 90-degree angle like you would run a ribbon through scissors to curl it; lightly spray each curl with a texturizing spray; flip your head over when done and "scrunch" just a little; finish all over with very little texturizing spray. This cannot be done with a large flat iron, but with a one-inch. The curls come out SO beautiful.

Use hot rollers, and lots of spray,,,,, it's quicker than the curling iron----or a soft perm if you can get one and want to keep curls for awhile.

You need to get a "perm job". Tell a stylist: They know what it means. Check your yellow pages for near hair style salons in your area that specialize on this kind of hair work. Sorry, no other way to make that miracle happen with an over the counter product. Good Luck!

i too have very straight hair...after showering, towel dry your hair, quickly brush your hair before it dries (if it dries a little just spray water in it), bend your head over and start crunching your hair in each hand (repeatedly doing this), then as you add hairspray continue scrunching a little bit more. it will help alot more if you add some kind of silk or leave-in-conditioner after brushing then do everything i said the same. put enough hair spray (kinda alot, depends on the thickness of your hair)..its best to use a spray bottle not the pump. spay inside out
